KANNUR: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has come to the fore following CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan in favour of China. Talking at the CPM district meet here, he has said that there is a deliberate attempt to destroy China which is emerging as a major economic power.

“China is emerging as a power to reckon with against the US, and hence they are trying to destroy China. And India is also joining the group of countries including the US that is trying to destroy China,” he said.

He also said that there are power blocks raising against the US but the approach of India that favours an imperialist nation like US is regretful.

No agreement or alliance with Congress

Pinarayi Vijayan also said that the CPM will form no agreement or alliance with the Congress. He nevertheless added that the party would join hands with all possible parties and take out protests.

“Proper alternatives are needed to fight communal forces. There is a need to unify secular-democratic parties to fight communal forces like the BJP. Also the CPM needs to strengthen independently along with taking out protests by unifying Leftist parties. The Congress is weakening across the country. The BJP has swallowed the Congress in Tripura,” he said.

He also said that there has been deviations with policies within the Communist parties, and the CPM was formed as a resistance to this deviation. “CPM is a party where democracy still exists. Can you point out one other single party where there is still democracy?” he said.

“The BJP and the RSS are provoking communal tension across the country. The violence against the Dalits have increased. The Central Government has sabotaged the Employment Assurance Scheme. The note ban and the GST has made the lives of people miserable. The BJP has set a new record in corruption,” he said.

Pinarayi also said that the BJP is still continuing with the ‘divide and rule’ policy.
