AJMAN: Ajman Civil Defence has controlled a blaze that occurred yesterday at a tent located inside an Emirati family house. No injuries were caused and the family members were evacuated.

According to first Lieutenant Mohamed Humaid Al Munairi, director of media and public relations, the civil defence was alerted about the fire accident on Friday afternoon. The fire brigades were dispatched to the house located at Al Jared area.

He said, “The entire tent was covered in the blazing fire, however there were no causalities. On completing the extinguishing process, the cooling process contributed.”

The First Lt urged owners of tents to strictly adhere to safety rules and ensure the safety of electrical connections.

He further said, “People should never smoke in tents or use any Stoves or heaters inside the tents. Electrical cables must be well placed inside pipes and the tent bought must be made of materials that are not highly flammable.”
