The Alice Lady Coyotes picked up a badly needed District 30-5A North Zone win Friday night at home by beating Corpus Christi Miller, 63-39.

With the win, the Alice girls improved to 4-4 in the North Zone and 19-12 for the season.

Taylor Blum led all scorers in the game with 19 points. Criselda Cruz scored nine and Kaity Buentello scored eight.

The Miller girls remained winless in the North Zone with a 0-8 record. The Lady Bucs are 2-24 for the season.

Alice has a crucial North Zone game on the road Friday against Gregory-Portland.

Miller 74, Alice 44

Corpus Christi Miller had four players score in double figures Friday night in a one-sided 74-44 win against Alice.

The win kept Miller on top the North Zone standings with a 5-1 record. The Bucs are 23-9 for the season. Alice dropped to 1-4 in the North Zone and 5-20 for the season.

John Leija led Alice with 14 points followed by Austin Garcia with 12.
