ROCKFORD — Brandon Barnes, 35, of Rockford was arrested Friday in the 600 block of Kishwaukee Street on charges of delivering and possessing cocaine.
Deputies from the Winnebago County Sheriff's Office said in a news release that the arrest was the culmination of a short-term narcotics investigation involving a cocaine purchase from Barnes.
Investigators ended up searching a residence in the 400 block of Fitch Road, where they discovered more cocaine and firearm ammunition.
Barnes was arrested and lodged in the Winnebago County Jail. He has been charged with delivery of 15 to 100 grams of cocaine, possessing with the intent to deliver one to 15 grams of cocaine, and possessing ammunition without the requisite firearm owner’s identification card, the news statement said.
