WARWICK, R.I. — The identities of two South Kingstown residents who died in a single-car crash early Saturday were released Saturday afternoon.

Two passengers were killed and the driver and another passenger were injured at 3:05 a.m. Saturday when a vehicle going north from Route 4 onto Route 95 left the road and struck a tree, a news release from the Rhode Island State Police said.

The two who died were Emma Brown, 21, of 17 Bethany Rd., Wakefield, and Lorenzo Smith, 33, of 576 Stony Fort Rd., South Kingstown.

They were pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver and another passenger were taken to Rhode Island Hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening, the news release said.

The state police are releasing no further information while the crash is being investigated.
