
Ranveer Singh, Shahid Kapoor and Deepika Padukone‘s Padmaavat has taken opened to packed house at the box office. The film took complete advantage of the national holiday (January 26) and earned Rs 32 crore. Despite earning Rs 32 crore, the magnum opus failed to beat the day two collections of biggies like Baahubali 2, Sultan and other four films. Padmaavat is currently the seventh highest day 2 grosser of all time.

The collections of Padmaavat would have been around Rs 38 crore if would have been released in the states of Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar and Gujarat. Due to no release in these states, the film has already faced the loss of around Rs 15 to Rs 20 crore. Unfortunately, the film was also leaked on Facebook, where around 3.5 lakhs subscribers watched the film. This incident will definitely affect the business of the Padmaavat. Despite all the controversies and criticism, Padmaavat has managed to attract the audience to the cinema halls. Earlier, Deepika had said that she is not someone who has ever been excited so much about box office numbers but “I have to say that this time I am. I think it’s going to be earth-shattering”.
