Cow slaughter leads to clash in UP’s Meerut, at least 5 injured, 2 accused held
Police seized beef and parts of slaughtered cows during a raid in Dhaulri village of Meerut, in which three police personnel and two people involved in cow slaughter were arrested.

Three police constables and two people allegedly involved in cow slaughter were injured in a clash during a police raid in a village in Meerut district of Uttar Pradesh, an official said on Saturday.
Police seized four quintals of beef, parts of slaughtered cows, eight knives and a country-made pistol during the raid on Friday night in Dhaulri village under Jani police station limits.
Two people were arrested while four managed to escape.
The two injured in the clash - identified as Mehboob and Zahiruddin – who were arrested were later admitted to a hospital. Police constables Amit, Mohan Singh and Dharmendra also sustained injuries in the clash but were discharged from hospital after treatment.
Premchand, the station house officer of Jani police station, said they raided the village after getting a tip on cows being slaughtered.
When police nabbed two of the accused, their supporters attacked the police personnel following which a clash ensued, he said. Raids were underway to arrest the four other accused.
