Crystal Halley, director of academic advising at the University of Arkansas at Monticello, has been appointed assistant vice chancellor for academic affairs.
“Crystal has been a valuable member of the academic affairs staff and I am pleased that she has accepted this important position,” Peggy Doss, vice chancellor for academic affairs, said in a news release. “Her background in academic advising will make her an asset for both faculty and students.”
Halley has directed academic advising since joining UAM in 2007. She is also an adjunct instructor in the School of Social and Behavioral Sciences, the School of Business, and the Division of General Studies.
She is a 2002 UAM graduate with a bachelor of arts degree in political science. She also holds a juris doctorate degree from the William H. Bowen School of Law at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. She was admitted to the Arkansas Bar in 2008.
Halley currently chairs the UAM advisement report revision work team and is a member of the best practices work team, orientation work team and the Education Advisory Board leadership team.
