GREEN BAY — A Green Bay man will serve 20 years in federal prison for dealing methamphetamine.

Kyle D. Herwald, 27, must also spend 10 years on supervised release.

He was sentenced Friday in U.S. District Court in Green Bay for conspiracy to distribute meth. His co-conspirator, Cory L. Daul of Bellevue, is serving a five-year prison term for her role in the operation, according to court documents.

Daul obtained packages of meth from a supplier in Nevada between February 2016 and March 2017, according to court records.

In January of 2017, she enlisted Herwald to sell the drug on the street, court records say.

U.S. Judge William Griesbach cited Herwald’s prior record, including drug and violent felony offenses as part of the consideration for his sentence.

Herwald was recently convicted in Brown County Circuit Court of trying to steal a man's casino winnings at gunpoint in the same month that Herwald had started selling meth for Daul.

The victim won about $900 from the Oneida Casino on West Mason Street on Jan, 16, 2017, according to the criminal complaint. He and a friend, Perry J. Zaidel, 26, picked up Herwald at a local fast food restaurant and were driving when Herwald pulled out a gun, held it to the victim’s head and ordered him to hand over his winnings, the complaint says.

When the victim refused, Zaidel punched him in the face and held him down while Herwald pistol-whipped him, the complaint says.

The man escaped and called police, and the two were later arrested.

The two are still awaiting sentencing for that incident.
