Greenwood man wanted in connection
UPDATE: Delaware State Police have released the name of the deceased Bridgeville shooting victim as 18-year-old Tavyon M. Sykes, of Greenwood.
In addition, on Friday, Jan. 26, detectives obtained an arrest warrant for a suspect, 31-year-old Jared C. Mitchell, of Greenwood, for first-degree murder, two counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, reckless endangering and two counts of possession of a firearm by a person prohibited.

Delaware State Police are conducting an investigation into a homicide that occurred Thursday afternoon in Bridgeville.
The preliminary investigation has revealed that on Thursday, Jan. 25, at around 1:40 p.m., police were notified that a victim had been dropped off by a private vehicle at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital in Seaford. Upon their arrival, troopers were informed that an 18-year-old male victim, of Greenwood, had been shot and succumbed to his injuries. The shooting was reported to have occurred at the intersection of Newton and Adams Roads in Bridgeville.
Newton Road, at the intersection of Adams Road, was closed for about an hour while troopers secured and investigated the scene. The victim's name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
The incident continues to be investigated by the homicide unit and further information will be released as it becomes available.
