Offshore Waters Forecast for the Gulf of Mexico

Seas given as significant wave height, which is the average
height of the highest 1/3 of the waves. Individual waves may be
more than twice the significant wave height.

Synopsis for the Gulf of Mexico
1007 PM EST Fri Jan 26 2018

.SYNOPSIS...A very strong high pressure of 1044 mb centered just
offshore the Virginia/North Carolina coast extends a ridge across
much of the Gulf waters producing frequent gusts to minimal gale
force across the Straits of Florida. This system will maintain 
strong winds east of 90W tonight and Sat. A trough across the SW
Gulf off the Mexican coast will meander through Sat, then lift N
as a warm front. A surface low will develop along the warm front
near 29N88W Sun morning, then race across the NE Gulf Sun, and 
drag a cold front across the Gulf region through Mon morning. 
Gale conditions are expected across the SW Gulf behind the front 
on Mon.
