A MOTORCYCLIST has died after a crash in west Oxfordshire on Thursday.

Thames Valley Police has confirmed that a 75-year-old man from the Swindon area died at the scene of the incident in Little Faringdon. 

The crash involved a blue Mercedes car and a Triumph motorcycle on the A361 at around 11.35am on Thursday January 25.

The road was closed while emergency services attended however the rider of the motorcycle died at the scene.

His next of kin have been informed.

The driver of the Mercedes stopped at the scene and an investigation is ongoing into the circumstances of the collision and Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

Sergeant Chris Ruff, of the Joint Operations Unit for Roads Policing, said: "I would like to appeal for anyone who saw the collision which occurred on the A361 at Little Faringdon between Burford and Lechlade in which a man sadly died.
