Bhagwat ignores Kerala government’s circular, hoists Tricolour at school

| Jan 27, 2018, 07:19 IST
RSS Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat hoisted the national flag as part of the Republic Day celebrations at a school in Kerala on Friday, ignoring a circular issued by the CPM-led Left Democratic Front government.

Bhagwat's move may trigger another round of political slugfest between CPM and RSS, with the ruling LDF government issuing a circular to all state-run and aided schools saying that only school principals would hoist the Tricolour on Republic Day.

After unfurling the flag at the Vyasa Vidya Peethom School at Kallekkad near Palakkad town on Friday morning, the RSS chief spoke on the Constitution, describing it as a "model for other countries".
