Now, a total of nine people have been arrested in the violence. A Special Investigative Team has been formed to arrest the others accused in the violence.
Chandan (16) was killed and two others were injured in Kasganj area yesterday during a Tiranga Rally taken out by VHP and ABVP workers on the occasion of Republic Day.
The motorbike rally led to communal tension in the area, wherein two groups pelted stones at each other. The rally was held on the Mathura-Bareilly highway.
Curfew has been imposed in the city following the incident.
To avoid further tension, senior police officials were sent to the area today. Section 144 continues to be in place since last night as reports of fresh violence came from the area.
Along with the local police, 5 Company PAC and 1 RAF has been pressed into action as well.
The police said that the men who hurled stones at the motorcycle rally had been identified and strict action would be taken against them.
Additional DG (Law and Order) Anand Kumar had earlier said, "It seems the (stone pelting) incident was not pre-planned but a spontaneous one."
