Editor, Register-Mail: Thomas Mosher, you’ve taken a break from slamming us with your book of ancient mythology to tell us that: “President Trump is on track to restore the American dream for everyone, even if he goes about it in an unconventional manner.” I don’t know how you got to that, Thomas, but polling shows that about 11 percent of Americans agree with you. His “unconventional manner” includes a secretary of state, attorney general, and a bunch of Wall Streeters in his cabinet who are all happily trashing our democracy.
Our position of leadership in the world is gone, and Mike Pence must be rather nervous about his trip to Asia. The president declared his blatant racism once again in the now infamous meeting. I would’ve thought that what he said there would offend you greatly, Christian man, but no. You’re also not bothered by the fact that he has no concept of Americanism/democracy.
He doesn’t want “merit-base” immigration, he wants WHITE immigration, “more Norwegians.” He’s a racist, and white supremacists/Nazis are pretty much OK with him.
Concerning Trump’s alleged health, indications are that the young military doctor didn’t write the report. With that diet, (cheeseburgers in bed?) his heart can’t be in great shape. And Thomas, he’s plainly no 239 pounds, correct?
The New York Times Editorial Board just published its third “The Republican’s Guide to Presidential Etiquette.” Among the examples drawn from incidents or disclosures in the last three-plus months, is this one: “Have your lawyer pay $130,000 in hush money to a porn star with whom you had an affair while your wife was at home caring for your new son.” The porn star is Stephanie Clifford, known as “Stormy Daniels.” The new son is, of course, Baron. The complete list can be found here: tinyurl.com/ybuc5m2l So Thomas, concerning Trump, “Christian values” go right out the window, it seems.
And Robert Mueller and his team of specialists draw ever closer to whacking Trump with, oh, I’m betting, 150-200 charges, maybe a lot more. Certainly collusion with a foreign power and conspiracy to obstruct justice. Jared and Ivanka have big collusion problems, too.
And you’re going to be seeing 17th Congressional District Representative Cheri Bustos holding her office for a long time, Thomas. She’s doing a great, democracy-preserving job for We, the People.
Looking forward to Nov. 6th. — Jerry Ryberg, Galesburg
