Andhra Pradesh Eastern Power Distribution Company Limited (APEPDCL) celebrated the 69th Republic Day at its corporate office in the city on Friday.
H.Y. Dora, Chairman and Managing Director of APEPDCL unfurled the national flag and took the general salute given by APTS wing of the APEPDCL. He urged the employees to strive hard to achieve the 24-hour power supply.
He congratulated the employees of the Discom for achieving the lowest transmission and distribution losses in the country.
He said under the rural electrification programme 100% households coming up to 1,98,329 rural houses were electrified in five districts of APEPDCL.
All 171 agency villages were covered with solar power connectivity and solar power was given to 3,526 houses in Agency areas.
Mr Dora also said Visakhapatnam was the first city in Andhra Pradesh to have the UG Cabling works sanctioned. The UG project is being taken up at a cost of ₹ 720 crore and will be completed by July 2019.
Directors B. Seshu Kumar and T.V.S. Chandrasekhar, Executive Director B. Ramesh Prasad, CGRF chair person D. Dhrama Rao and other senior officers were present.
