Royal Roses and Freesia Gifts are among the several pop-up shops at Mall of Qatar participating in Shop Qatar 2018.
In collaboration with Qatar Development Bank, Qatar Tourism Authority has gathered Qatari entrepreneurs in one place so they can sell their products to a wider market.
Royal Roses (Instagram /royalrosesqtr) specialises in a wide range of fresh and preserved roses imported from Ecuador. The roses come in 26 colours and are quite in-demand among Qataris, who prefer royal blue and red roses. 'We get a lot of orders in December, especially in the run-up to the National Day celebrations but all throughout the year, we get a steady demand from our clients who are fond of giving away novelty gifts, a shopkeeper at Royal Roses said.
He said majority of their customers prefer preserved roses over the fresh ones because they last longer.
On the other hand, Freesia Gifts (Instagram Freesia_Qatar) offers fresh and artificial roses dipped in 24-carat gold. Customers can buy either a single flower or a bouquet of gold plated roses, which also come with a certificate of authenticity.
Aside from its unique roses, the company also sells other elegant gifts and giveaways like 'tasty chocolates and high-quality customised playing cards.
'Valentine's Day is a big day for us and we have long queues of customers during this season. Similarly, we also get a lot of orders during special occasions like Ramadan and Eid, its shopkeeper explained.
Royal Roses and Freesia Gifts are included in the 30 pop-up shops participating in the 32-day festival. Other shops are offering fashion accessories, abayas and other women's clothing, perfumes, and oud scents and a variety of incense, among others.
The event has provided some 50 Qatari entrepreneurs the chance to showcase their products for the entire duration of the Shop Qatar 2018, which will run until February 8.
