The police say shortly before 6 p.m. Friday, the motorcyclist, who is known to them as ‘Ratty’ was driving towards St Mary when he attempted to overtake a car and collided with an on-coming  police highway patrol service vehicle.

Ratty reportedly sustained several broken bones as he was thrown from his motorcycle on impact.

He was rushed to the Port Antonio hospital, and later transferred to another medical facility in St Ann’s Bay, where he was admitted in a serious, but stable condition.
