The feast of St Paul is being celebrated today, two weeks ahead of its usual date of 10 February, because that day will coincide with Carnival festivities.
The celebrations started this morning with a pontifical Mass led by Archbishop Mgr Charles Scicluna.
Present for the Mass are President Marie Louise Coleiro Preca, Speaker Angu Farrugia, deputy prime minister Chris Fearne and Opposition Leader Adrian Delia.
The procession with the statue of the saint will be taking place tonight.
