Edwardsburg tops Three Rivers, Constantine boys win

Edwardsburg beat Three Rivers 56-45 on Friday night in Wolverine Conference action.

The Eddies led 13-12 after one quarter of action. They held Three Rivers to just two points in the second quarter, building a lead of 24-14 at the break.

Edwardsburg out-scored Three Rivers 32-31 in the second half.

The Cats were led by Tirrell Hausmanis with 14 points and 15 rebounds, Jalen Heivilin tossed in nine points with five rebounds. Parker Ellifritz added five points, Jensin Blyly had five points and three rebounds, Nolan Mark had five points with two rebounds while Gavin Charvat had five points with 12 rebounds.

Brenden Brown chipped in with two points and four rebounds.

In junior varsity action Three Rivers dropped the game 46-39. The Cats were led by Ross O’Connor with 14 points.

Edwardsburg won the freshmen game as well, 60-41. The Cats were led by Dontray McKinney with 14 points.

Constantine 61, Galesburg 36

Constantine raced out to a 14-7 lead after one quarter and a 29-12 advantage at halftime in a 61-36 win over Galesburg-Augusta on Friday.

The Falcons scored 16 points in each of the final two quarters, holding off the Rams for the win.

Constantine was led in scoring by Nolan Malcom with 22 points, Seth Wright added 13 while Hunter Bacheller had 11 points and five assists.

Zach Bittner tossed in seven points, both Trey Salisbury and Guy Topo had four points.

Mendon 70, Eau Claire 51

Mendon connected for 55 percent of its shots from the floor on Friday night in a 70-51 win over Eau Claire on the road. The Hornets were led in scoring by Lukas Crotser with 24 points, he hit 11-of-15 shots in the game.

Mendon led 34-28 at the break.

Hunter Lovell hit for 13 points, Keaton Crotser tossed in 12.

Mendon also got seven each from Cole Decker and Chris Holder, Tommy Yueng added four while Corbin Weinberg added two and Josh Harold made a free throw.

Lovell had a team-high seven rebounds, Crotser hauled in six while handing out six assists. Holder also had six rebounds.

Bellevue 80, Colon 30

Bellevue beat Colon 80-30 in prep hoops action Friday night.

The Broncos led 23-6 after one quarter of action and 40-12 at halftime.

The highest-scoring quarter of the evening saw Bellevue post 26 in the third. Colon also had its highest-scoring quarter in the third with 13. Bellevue led 66-25 after three.

Colon was led in scoring by Andy Stoll with seven, Austin Stoll had five points with six rebounds, Clayton Wolf tossed in five points, Philip alva added four.

Scoring two each were Jonathan Smolarz, Andrew Smolarz, Garrick Yaudes and Ryan Clark. Isaiah Fellers connected for a free throw.

Pittsford 55, Burr Oak 45

Pittsford picked up a 10-point win over Burr Oak on Friday, 55-45.

“Lost to a very big and good Pittsford team tonight,” Bobcat coach Danny Schragg said. “This was one of our best games of the season. We came out sloppy and got down by 15, but Noah Norton gave us a huge spark off the bench in the third quarter and our defense was solid against their big guys.”

Burr Oak trailed by five points most of the third quarter, Schragg said, and the Bobcats just ran out of gas. Pittsford led 40-35 entering the final quarter.

“Proud of how hard we’ve been playing the last two games,” he said. “Hopefully it’s a sign that we’re going in the right direction.”

Zach Boyd led the Bobcats with 26 points, Braxton Hernandez added eight points while Dennis Currier had four points. Both Norton and Noah Greene had three points while Skylar Currier connected for a free throw. Armondo Beverly and Caleb Brooks each had five rebounds.

Marcellus 60, White Pigeon 42

Marcellus beat White Pigeon 60-42 on Friday night.

The Wildcats led 9-5 after one and 33-18 at the break.

Eli Robinson led Marcellus with 18, Trevor Henry and Kaeler Stafne each had 12. Jack Sumners tossed in eight, Zach Shelton added five, Carson Sumners had three and Derek Flory added two.
