THAIS AMONG PARTNERS IN LAO POWER PROJECT
Three companies from Laos, Russia and Thailand have signed a cooperation agreement to build the Xekong 5 and Xekong 4A and B hydroelectric power projects as a single cascade.
The agreement was signed in Vientiane between Rattana Prathoumvanh, Managing Director of the EDL-Generation Public Company (EDL-Gen), Igor Dakhin, Investment Director of A-Rksena Pte Ltd, Singapore (a subsidiary of the Russian A-Rksena LLC ) and Peerawat Pumthong, Chief Business Development Officer of Ratchaburi Electricity Generating Holding Plc.
A-Rksena Pte Ltd is the developer of the Xekong 5 hydroelectric power project with an installed capacity of 330MW. Ratchaburi , together with its other partners, is developing the Xekong 4A and B hydroelectric power projects with an installed capacity of 360MW. The total installed capacity of the cascade will be about 690 mw while the total capital expenditure for both power stations will be about US$1.5 billion. – Vientiane Times
