Twenty-two Delhi Police officers and 31 Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel have been conferred Police Medals for exemplary service.
In the Delhi Police, the President’s Police Medal for Gallantry has been awarded to Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Attar Singh, Inspector Rajinder Kumar and Inspector Ravinder Kumar Tyagi.
Batla House encounter
Mr. Tyagi was part of the 2008 encounter at Batla House in Delhi in which two suspected terrorists, Atif alias Bashir and Mohd. Sajid alias Pankaj, were killed.
The President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service has been awarded to Additional Commissioner of Police Kamal Kant Vyas and ACP Surender Kumar Dahiya. Mr. Vyas was Deputy Commissioner of Police (Economic Offences Wing) where, for the first time, history sheets of economic offenders were prepared.
The Police Medal for Meritorious Service has been awarded to DCPs Rajveer Singh Chauhan, Asif Mohd Ali, Sanjay Bhatia, Dinesh Kumar Gupta, Additional DCP Varsha Sharma, ACP Shashi Bala, Inspectors Som Nath Paruthi, Sandeep Malhotra, Raj Kumar, Krishan Prakash, Suresh Maskeen, Assistant Sub-Inspector Jitender Dogra, Head Constables Kishan Chand, Dev Kumar, Subhash Kumar, Ranbir Singh and Satish Kumar.
In the CISF, the President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service was awarded to Deputy Inspector General Nand Gopal Gupta and Commandant Yashwant Singh.
The Police Medal for Meritorious Service has been awarded to DIG Nilima Rani Singh, Senior Commandants Vertul Singh, Zhoponeyi Zuo, Nirvikar, Pasupati Pratap Singh, Arun Singh, Divya Shukla, Anand Saxena and Piyali Sharma, Commandant Manmohan Kumar, Assistant Commandant Amarjeet Singh, Inspectors Suvrat Vasistha, , Rajesh Kumar, Kuldeep Singh Rathore, and Naresh Kumar, ASIs S Subramanyam, Ponturu Vijay Kumar, Balbir Singh, Arshad Ali, M S Gopa Kumar, Lekh Raj, Bhupender Singh, Vasu Dev, and Kirtan Lal Paikra.
The President’s Fire Service Medal for Distinguished Service was awarded to Head Constable Neravanda Ponnappa Subbaiah and Fire Service Medal for Meritorious Service to Assistant Commandant Sabbella Venkata Reddy and ASI Halleppa.
The Uttam Jeevan Raksha Padak, in recognition of indomitable courage, was conferred to Constable Satyen Singh.
The Jeevan Raksha Padak was given to Constable Puran Mal Verma.
