Artwork exhibition celebrates ‘Year of Zayed’

DUBAI: Scores of people including corporate partners, VIPs and guests including media attended a unique photography exhibition featuring Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque by Lofti Hamrouni and an apparel and jewellery pop-up by Asya Krasnaya.

Talking to The Gulf Today, Hamrouni said, “To celebrate the ‘Year of Zayed’ and to pay a glowing tribute to one of the most important personality, I have compiled a series of artworks of Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque. I started this project last year on my visits to the grand mosque on several occasions,” he said.

The 14 artworks exhibited at the event seemed paintings to many but all were result of fine art technique applied by the Hamrouni who has been doing this for a long time.

This was the third show by the artist of the exhibiting Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque to celebrate the ‘year of Zayed’ after Al Ain and Abu Dhabi. More will be held in other emirates in the coming months.

Lofti, a British-Tunisian motivational speaker and photographer is best known for his landscape photography, nature, culture, food, fashion, travel, celebrities and sport events. He has worked and lived in the Middle East since 1995. Lofti has developed his photography talent in Abu Dhabi while working in the hospitality industry.

Nemo Acimovic, General Manager led the cake cutting ceremony to officially open the new lobby that showcases an amalgamation of space, comfort and luxury. “We are pleased to unveil our newly refurbished lobby, which offers convenience and comfort for business and leisure travellers. Our goal is to make the lobby a destination for both residents and visitors where they can relax, socialise or do work-related tasks while checking-into or checking out from the hotel. This is part of our commitment to stay in touch with ongoing competition, as well as deliver excellent service, comfort and attention to our valued guests,” he said.

Furthermore, Asya Krasnaya’s collection showcased a variety of earrings, necklaces, bracelets and jewellery sets with designs inspired by the wild lemons of Italy, the green currants of United Kingdom, the red currants of Russia and the sea of Italy. The hand-crafted jewellery pieces were plated in 18-k gold and decorated with semi-precious stones and Swarovski crystals. The designer also previewed her Spring/Summer 2018 apparel collection which was on display especially for guests present at the lobby launch at Millennium Plaza Dubai.
