DAVAO CITY – President Duterte on Saturday denied any hand in the filing of charges against former president Benigno Aquino III over the 2015 Mamasapano incident, which resulted in the deaths of 44 members of the police’s Special Action Force (SAF).
Duterte also said there was no more need to create a commission that would investigate the incident.
“Not anymore because I realized that (a case had already been filed),” he said.
But Duterte said the question remained unanswered why”they” allowed the incident to happen.
“Why did you allow the (policemen) to get stuck and die? That was what’s painful,” he added, obviously addressing Mr. Aquino.
