President’s medal awarded to two police officers from State

21 others awarded the Police Medal for Meritorious Service

The Centre has announced medals to 23 police officers from Tamil Nadu on the occasion of Republic Day. The officers are selected based on the overall performance, achievement and reputation. According to a press release, the President’s medal for distinguished service has been awarded to Rajeev Kumar, Additional Director General of Police Welfare, Chennai, and S. Manoharan, Joint Commissioner of Police, East Zone, Greater Chennai Police.

Apart from this, 21 officers have been awarded the Police Medal for Meritorious Service. Among them are A. Radhika, SP, V&AC, Western Range, Chennai; R.Lalitha Lakshmi, SP, Economic Offences Wing, Chennai; S.Mallikha, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Central Crime Branch-II, Greater Chennai Police; B.Shamoondeswari, SP, Tamil Nadu Police Academy, Chennai. S.Lakshmi, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Law and Order, Coimbatore City; S. Elango, ASP, V&AC, CSU-III, Chennai; N. Mohanraj, ASP, Police Recruit School, Avadi; K. Rajendran, ASP, Special Branch CID, Headquarters, Chennai, Assistant Commissioners A.P. Selvan, A.Subbrayan, DSP G. Hector Dharmaraj, Inspectors M.E. Ramachandramoorthy, A. Arularasu Justin, A. Kumaravelu and V. Baskaran, inspector, V&AC, Chennai.

The other recipients are SI K. Mohankumar, SSIs S. Venukumaran, P. Selvaraju, K. Ravi, S.M. Mathiventhan and Neelankarai police station head constable N.Venkata Saravanan.
