DHAKA: Police, in separate drives, detained three people with 182 petrol bombs and 35 kilograms explosives from Mirpur and Chawkbazar area of Dhaka.
Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) assistant commissioner (AC) Sumon Kanti Chowdhury confirmed the matter to Banglanews on Friday (January 26).
He said a man named Sumon was detained from Kafrul’s Ibrahimpur area with 160 petrol bombs on Thursday afternoon. Another man Rezaul karim was detained with 22 petrol bombs from Darussalam area at night. In a separate drive, police detained another man Mostak with 35 kg explosives.
The detainees were planning sabotage activities, he added based on initial investigation.
