The Titans have six players in the Pro Bowl on Sunday in Orlando, the franchise’s largest contingent in the NFL’s annual all-star game since 2008, when Tennessee had six players voted in and eight make it once alternates were added.

Tennessee also qualified for the playoffs this season for the first time since 2008, finishing with a 9-7 regular-season record. The Titans defeated the Chiefs in a wild card game before their season ended with a divisional-round loss to the Patriots.

The team’s six Pro Bowlers represent all three phases of the game.

Kevin Byard

Safety

The former MTSU star is making his first Pro Bowl appearance after tying for the NFL lead with eight interceptions. He also had 87 tackles, 18 pass breakups and two fumble recoveries. Byard was named a first-team All-Pro by The Associated Press after initially being snubbed for the Pro Bowl, despite leading the fan vote at free safety. He made the game as an alternate, replacing Bills safety Micah Hyde.

Taylor Lewan

Left tackle

The Titans’ fiery left tackle is making his second consecutive Pro Bowl appearance. Lewan has established himself as a cornerstone on offense since being drafted 11th overall in 2014. He started all 16 regular-season games for the second straight season, and while he’s under contract for 2018, is likely to sign a long-term extension this offseason.

Brett Kern

Punter

Kern is making his first trip to the Pro Bowl in his 10th NFL season, and was also named an AP second-team All-Pro. The Titans’ longtime punter led the league with a career-high 49.7 yards per punt this season. A 74-yard punt against the Bengals was the second-longest of his career.

Brynden Trawick

Special teams

Trawick, who signed as a free agent last offseason, led the Titans with 17 special teams tackles. The safety made his first Pro Bowl as an alternate. He replaced Patriots special teams standout Matthew Slater.
