Metamora, Limestone will participate in unified basketball game Saturday

Metamora and Limestone students with special needs will get their time to shine at Toepke Gym on Saturday night.

The two schools are taking part in a unified basketball game that will take place following the sophomore game (approximately 6:15 p.m.) and prior to the varsity game, according to Metamora athletic director Jared Hart. There will be a mixture of students, but the majority will be students with special needs.

Teams will play two, 10-minute halves with a running clock and a five minute halftime.

"Unified Sports is a way to celebrate the talents of students with special needs and gives them additional opportunities to participate in extra-curricular activities," Hart said in a press release.
