An infant that was inside a stolen car has been removed from its home by Child Protective Services, Corpus Christi police confirmed. 

At 10:12 a.m. Jan. 19 officers responded to a call of a 10-month-old who was inside a red 1996 Honda Accord that was stolen in the 5800 block of Everhart Road, police said.

Police said charges against the infant's mother for suspicion of abandoning and endangering a child with intent to return are possible and CPS has opened its own investigation, Public Information Officer Gena Pena said.

No arrests have been made and police are working to identify a possible suspect, Pena said.
