The Spartans on the basketball floor have been able to shut out all of the outside noise and focus on the task at hand through one half of basketball.
It also helps that they're playing Wisconsin.
At the half, MSU leads 37-21.
The Badgers are just 6-for-29 from the field, Miles Bridges has 15 points to lead MSU and it just doesn't appear it's going to be a tight contest on the floor in East Lansing tonight.
Nick Ward has a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds over the game's first 20 minutes.
Jackson sets blocked shots record
Jaren Jackson Jr. has set a single-season school record for blocked shots after two early rejections put him at 73 this season.
Led by Miles Bridges' 10 points and a defense that is just overwhelming Wisconsin (3-for-17 from the field), the Spartans look like they might run away with this one tonight.
It's 24-11 with 7:35 remaining in the first half.
Spartans off to a strong start
Wisconsin continues to just throw up all kinds of deep shots late in the shot clock. It currently has no answer for MSU's suffocating defense.
Led by seven early points from Miles Bridges, the Spartans hold a 15-8 advantage at the 12:48 mark of the first half.
Students show support for victims by wearing teal
The majority of the student section at Breslin Center tonight is wearing teal to support the victims of sexual assault. It was reported that MSU was not legally able to organize such an effort, but the students deemed it important enough to show solidarity.
On the court, the Badgers and Spartans traded 3-pointers before both went a bit cold from the field.
At the 16:58 mark of the first half, MSU leads 5-3.
Izzo calls reports of retirement "false"
With all that's been going on today, MSU has a basketball game to play tonight against Wisconsin.
Though it was ESPN that had a scathing report on the MSU athletic program, Fox Sports 1, which is broadcasting tonight's game, did not just stick to the action on the court.
FS1's Tim Brando said he talked to Tom Izzo before the game, at which point Izzo told Brando that rumors of him considering retirement are "false."
