When news first broke that The CW was developing a Charmed reboot in 2017, fans were split 50/50 on whether they wanted it or not, but the stars of the original series were less conflicted.
Alyssa Milano and Holly Marie Combs, who played Phoebe and Piper Halliwell respectively, were open to the idea of a revival, but not too hot on the concept of rebooting the original premise without any of the people who made the show what is was. Now, the reboot is officially getting a pilot at The CW, and it doesn't seem like Holly Marie Combs has warmed to the idea at all.
Combs took to Twitter to express her skepticism about The CW remaking the show without any input from the original cast and creators. Her tweets imply she thinks that the reboot would just be cashing in on the Charmed name and concept, while "capitalizing" on the hard work of the people who made it great in the first place.
Here's the thing. Until you ask us to rewrite it like Brad Kern did weekly don't even think of capitalizing on our hard work. Charmed belongs to the 4 of us, our vast amount of writers, crews and predominantly the fans. FYI you will not fool them by owning a title/stamp. So bye.
