GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -
Firefighters with the Parker Fire District battled a fire at the Cherrydale Cigar Club building on North Pleasantburg Drive Friday morning.
Chief Steve Alverson said firefighters were called to the business around 3 a.m. and found 15-foot flames shooting from the roof.
As of 4:15 a.m. the fire was under control but firefighters were still dousing hot spots.
No one was in the building at the time of the fire.
Alverson said the building suffered extensive damage.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Alverson said lanes of Pleasantburg Drive may be blocked for a few hours. The road fully reopened shortly before 6 a.m.
