Police: Young mother kidnapped, beaten, dumped on side of road

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. - A young mother was kidnaped, beaten, and dumped on the side of the road, according to police.

DeKalb County Police are searching for the man investigators said abducted the woman at the Budget Inn on Memorial Drive.

Investigators believe Derwin Johnson kidnaped the young mother as she took her trash out Wednesday night and then drove her to Newton County where she was dropped off.

Police found her walking along the road, naked and bleeding from a stab wound. She was taken to the hospital where she reportedly remained Thursday evening.

Police believe Johnson may be driving a blue, late model Monte Carlo.
