The Department of Pathology at the University of California San Francisco seeks outstanding physician-scientists for a full-time faculty position with research and teaching responsibilities at the Assistant Professor level in the tenure-track (Ladder Rank) series. The successful candidate will direct an independent basic or translational research program focused on any area of biomedical science related to human disease, including cancer biology, development and stem cell biology, cell injury, and inflammation. Additional duties will include departmental and university teaching for graduate students, medical students, house-staff and fellows, and clinical service commensurate with the individual’s qualifications and interests. She/he will be proposed for membership in the Biomedical Science (BMS) Graduate Program, and other graduate programs consistent with research interests.

The successful candidate must possess an MD or MD-PhD degree, be Board Certified (or eligible at the time of appointment) in Anatomic Pathology, and be currently licensed to practice medicine in California. A minimum of two years demonstrated postdoctoral research experience is required. Individuals with a documented record of grant support are highly desirable. Salary and appointment rank will be commensurate with the applicant’s experience and training.
