EDINBURGH-based sensor technology pioneer Pyreos has made progress in the key Asian market after supplying a chip used by a South Korean firm to develop a tiny flame detector.

Pyreos said Trueyes is using its ezPyro chip to make the smallest flame-sensing module of its kind in the world. The 16mm by 16mm module could add fire-detection capabilities to gadgets such as cameras.

Andrew Wallace, chief executive of Pyreos, said: “We are looking forward to new flame and gas detection modules being launched based on our ezPyro family of products.”
