NYACK - A 29-year-old man was shot in the leg in central Nyack on Thursday night, Clarkstown police said.
He was rushed to a local hospital, where he was being treated.
Police are looking for four male subjects who ran from the scene, but detectives didn't have any other descriptions of the attackers.
According to a press release from the police, the victim is "currently alert at the hospital."
The area of Mountainview Avenue and Route 59 was shut down around 7 p.m. and was expected to remain closed for the foreseeable future.
The Police Department posted on its social media pages that "there is no threat to the residents in the area."
Police are asking anyone who was in the area and witnessed anything to send information through the department's Tip411 or call 845-639-5800.
