Uttar Pradesh Mahila Congress president Pratima Singh resigned from the party post in Lucknow on Thursday.
Without giving specific reason for her decision, Singh in her three line resignation letter, said that she was stepping down from the post due to unavoidable reasons. She has sent a copy of the resignation to Congress general secretary and UP in-charge Gulam Nabi Azad and to UP Congress president Raj Babbar.
Meanwhile, Babbar along with Congress leaders met Governor Ram Naik in Lucknow on Thursday and handed over a memorandum to draw his attention towards the deteriorating law and order position in the state.
The delegation demanded Naik to intervene and ensure a fearless society to the people. Congress leaders also highlighted as to how the Yogi government had failed to check sensational crimes in the state.
