Mumbai: Senior BJP leader and former minister Eknath Khadse accused his party leaders of trying to throw him out of the party though he isn’t inclined to leave it.

Ashok Chavan, president of Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) said his party was ever ready to welcome him into its fold. However, Raosaheb Danve, state BJP president said the party will support Khadse once he gets a clean chit.

Khadse and Ashok Chavan shared a common dais at Jalgaon on Thursday where Khadse said he didn’t want to leave the BJP. “If I was involved in any corruption, state government should bring it before public. Now I need answer,” Khadse said. He claimed some leaders were trying to drive him out of the party.

Chavan, who was there, said Khadse should not wait to be driven out by party leaders. “Khadse saheb, don’t wait. Take decision and we are ready at anytime for you (to join Congress),” he said.

Reacting to Khadse’s statement, Danve said, “Khadse is senior leader of party. He himself left the (ministerial) post due to some reason. He got clean chit in most of the probes and once he gets complete clean chit in the remaining cases, party will welcome him back with respect.”
