Government reform minister Lovitta Foggo has met with union leaders to discuss “change management” as they drive to improve efficiency.

According to a press release, Government is producing a strategic plan which will provide a “comprehensive road map to achieve more efficient delivery of quality public service”.

Ms Foggo and the Bermuda Public Services Union talked about the plan at the first of a series of government reform agenda meetings yesterday.

Ms Foggo said: “As I have stated, our relationship with our union partners will be based on mutual respect, regular communication, proactive policies and teamwork.

“Yesterday’s meeting was aimed at discussing change management and agreeing a way forward, as we believe their input and active participation is imperative to the success of innovation in Government.”

Late last year, Government completed negotiations which saw the signing of respective Collective Bargaining Agreements with the BPSU and the Fire Services Association, while agreements in principle have been reached with the Bermuda Industrial Union and the Bermuda Union of Teachers.
