Cops are offering a $12,500 reward for information about the gunman who opened fire on two police officers from the roof of a Brooklyn housing development.
The cops doing a floor-to-floor “vertical” patrol of the Stuyvesant Gardens Houses on Gates Ave. in Bedford-Stuyvesant when they heard gunshots at about 9:25 p.m. Sunday, authorities said.
They soon realized that someone was shooting at them from a nearby rooftop, and one of the bullets punched through a door moments after they emerged from it.
Police found 10 9-mm shell casings and two rounds on another roof in the development, but the shooter had vanished.
The NYPD’s Crime Stoppers program will pay up to $2,500 of the reward, and the Cop Shot Foundation is putting up another $10,000, police said.
