New Concord Lions scholarship deadline

NEW CONCORD — The New Concord Lions Club will sponsor its 14th annual college scholarship for a high school senior. This year’s scholarship will be for $1,000.

Past recipients from John Glenn High School include Leah Jones, Jenna Scholl, Kendra Moll, Jenna Parrish, Luke Brooks, Zach VanWey, Jessica St.Clair, Leanne Spillman, Aaron Laube, Josey James, Alisha Gupta, Danae Fields and Alayna Cowden.

Anyone interested in applying for the $1,000 scholarship must be a John Glenn High School senior or John Glenn senior attending the Mid-East Career and Technology Center. Applications may be picked up in the guidance office at John Glenn High School.

The selection process is based on academic achievement, extracurricular activities, and particularly civic involvement. The deadline for submission is Thursday, March 29.

The Lions Club is a service organization, which focuses on assisting with vision and eye care in the local area, state, nation and world. The club also helps with other projects in the New Concord area, including the scholarship.
