NBA All-Star draft results: LeBron James selects ex-teammate Kyrie Irving

The results of the NBA's inaugural All-Star draft, which were announced Thursday night, revealed that Kyrie Irving and LeBron James will be teammates again — if only for one game.

James and Stephen Curry, the leading fan vote-getters from the Eastern and Western Conference and therefore the captains for next month's All-Star Game, drafted their teammates, regardless of conference affiliation, on a private conference call Thursday afternoon. James had the first pick while Curry chose which color his team will wear for the league's annual event, which will take place in Los Angeles at Staples Center on Feb. 18.

James also drafted Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook, reuniting the former Oklahoma City Thunder teammates.

Much to the chagrin of many of the league's players and fans, the draft wasn't televised and the order of the picks weren't made public (though, as Curry noted this week, that may change moving forward).

James and Curry were required to use their first four picks on players voted in as starters (via fans, players and select media members) and their final seven picks on players voted in as reserves (via NBA coaches).

"This thing should have been televised," James, making an appearance on TNT after the results were revealed, said. "When me and Steph were doing the draft, we started laughing very hard at one point. I'm not even going to tell you what part it was, but we started laughing very hard at one point. It definitely should have been televised, that's for sure."

James wouldn't reveal his draft order, but called the opportunity to play alongside Irving again "special."

"I just tried to pick the best available players," James said. "To be able to team up back with Kyrie, it's always special, along with Kevin Love, for us to have another weekend and bring back some of the memories that we had when we were all together. Kyrie was available on the draft board. He's one of the best point guards we have in our league, so it was an easy choice for me."
