Winds are calm as we start Aloha Friday and will be light and variable through the weekend and beyond.

Afternoon sea breezes will be created by convective heating and that will in turn develop some interior clouds and showers.

Morning to midday will be mostly sunny.

High in Honolulu 81 degrees.

The Island of Hawaii continues to see more clouds and showers than the rest of us, at least today, particularly the Hamakua and southeast coast communities.

It looks like a cold front will bring widespread showers to the islands starting late Tuesday, but the timing and intensity of that weather is still in question. We will update the forecast as we get closer.

Surf is still dangerous along east shores, but just below advisory levels. Country shorelines will be very small until a moderate swell Sunday and a larger swell next Thursday.

Waves today will be 5-7 feet east, 3-5 feet north, 2-3 feet south, 1-3 feet west.

No weather or marine advisories are posted.
