'That was GHASTLY!' Nigel Farage tears into Theresa May over Prime Minister's Davos speech

NIGEL FARAGE ripped into the Prime Minster’s speech at the World Economic Forum in Davos, calling the speech “awful”.

The Brexiteer tore into  on his LBC show, comparing her speech to that of other world leaders.

After playing clips of other leaders, he said: “And then folks we get, yes yes, we get to, um um um, slight cough, but here we go - tell me I’m wrong.

“Tell me I’m being cruel. This is Mrs May, the British Prime Minister, speaking on the stage in Davos today.”

The MEP then played a clip of Mrs May’s speech, making quips over the top.

I need an interpreter

After it had finished, he said: “Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear, that was ghastly and I need an interpreter.

“I have absolutely no idea what she was trying to say.

“I really don’t get it and if you think it’s me being mean and cruel because for the last six months I’ve said she’s a hopeless Prime Minister, the worst I’ve seen in my lifetime and many of you don’t like me saying that.

“Let’s just take the comments on Janet Daley, and she wrote in the Daily Telegraph after May’s speech.

“She said, ‘it was a classic speech of the May genre in that it said nothing, her peroration was so platitudinous as to be utterly meaningless’.

"If you look at the newswires from other countries around the world, they’re all talking, of course they are, about Macron yesterday, Merkel today, Trump today.

“No ones talking about our Prime Minister.

“If you see the photographs of her sitting there with Donald Trump and, always be cautious really, criticising people for what they wear.

“But this sort of zip-up Jerkin, it looked a bit like she’d put it on because she was taking the dog out for a walk and it was still cold in the morning.

“I mean the whole thing, I think it was awful.

“I think she is an embarrassment on the world stage.”
