THE shopkeeper who sold a million pound winning lottery ticket says staff and customers are 'buzzing'.
Alex Best, of Shildon, was revealed this week to be the latest resident in the DL postcode area to have pocketed a six-figure sum across all of The National Lottery's games.
The 21-year-old won the cash in the EuroMillions UK Millionaire Maker draw, despite having an unsuccessful run of numbers on his Lucky Dip ticket.

A Bolton University graduate, he bought the ticket from his local Spar shop in Jubilee Fields, Shildon, in the spur of the moment as he queued to pay for a bag of Skittles for £1.
Speaking today, store manager David Ferrol said: "We do have a lot of wins on scratch cards weekly, and though I can’t disclose the figures, it’s about a couple grand a week.
“This is the first big win we’ve ever had in store. Nobody remembers serving him (Mr Best) but the shop is buzzing that we have sold a millionaire’s ticket.
“A lot of customers have come in this morning (yesterday) saying what a good start in life he will get. We’ve not had a single negative word at all.
“We thought he might have popped back in to buy another bag of sweets."
Mr Ferrol added he expected a surge in ticket sales as a result.
Alex is one of 32 people to be made a millionaire in the County Durham and Darlington postcode since the game was launched.
