1. Eco-Tracking: with naturalist David Brown, 1-4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 27; Summer Star Wildlife Sanctuary, 690 Linden St., Boylston. For information, call (508) 869-3434 or visit www.summerstarwildlife.org. This two-part program will use a slide presentation to introduce some of the basics of track and sign identification. Attendees will then head out into the sanctuary to look for evidence of wildlife. Dress for about two hours in the woods with warm clothes and snow-proof boots. Some travel will be off-trail, so bring snowshoes if needed. This program is suitable for reasonably fit adults and teens. Refreshments and beverages available afterward.
2. Knights of Columbus Free Throw Championship: noon-1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 27; Chocksett School gym, 40 Boutelle Road, Sterling. All boys and girls from Sterling and surrounding towns ages 9 to 14 are invited to participate. Preregistration is not required, and there is no entry fee. "How to Learn a New Language Without Leaving Your Couch," will show attendees how to access Mango Languages; bring a wireless device if available. Registration requested, but not required. This series will provide information on how to promote your child’s social emotional skills, understand their behavior and learn positive approaches and key strategies to help children learn appropriate behavior.
5. Health Assessment Survey: Fallon Health, UMass Memorial Health Care and the Worcester Division of Public Health/Central Massachusetts Regional Public Health Alliance are asking West Boylston residents to participate in the 2018 Greater Worcester Community Health Assessment (CHA) Survey. A CHA is conducted every three years to help understand key issues that affect residents' health and assess the strengths of communities.
