0.30am: Jose Mourinho insists he said nothing to convince Alexis Sanchez to join Manchester United.

Sanchez has spoken about what an honour it is to join United, describing the switch as a ‘dream come true’.

And when quizzed about how he sold the club, Mourinho refused to take any credit.

When asked what he said to convince Sanchez to sign, he said: “Nothing.”

The Portuguese is delighted to finally have his man as he looks to make a late title charge.

11.30pm: Chelsea are plotting a shock loan swoop for Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud.

The Blues are desperate for a striker as Antonio Conte seeks competition for misfiring summer signing Alvaro Morata.

They’ve been linked with a number of forwards, including Peter Crouch, Andy Carroll and Christian Benteke, while a move for Edin Dzeko is reportedly being discussed.

But according to the Mirror, France international Giroud is the latest target man on Chelsea’s wishlist.

But a switch to west London could impact their plans to sign Borussia Dortmund star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

The German side are keen to take Giroud on loan as part of the deal.

10.25pm: Edin Dzeko’s proposed move to Chelsea is in doubt because he can’t agree terms with the west Londoners.

Italian daily Corriere dello Sport say an understanding between player and club is still some way off.

It’s suggested the former Manchester City man wants a decent - and lengthy - contract.

That’s not the only issue.

Reports suggest the two heavyweights are yet to agree a transfer fee either.

The France Under-21 international has been linked with Premier League clubs Brighton and Crystal Palace.

"Moussa has never once asked to leave Celtic," Rodgers said. "We brought him here as a talented young player at 19 and he has shown that talent.

"We have had one official bid for him that is nowhere near the value of what the value of Moussa is. But equal to that we have no interest in selling him.

7pm: Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is confident Henrikh Mkhitaryan will be better off at Arsenal.

Ahead of United’s FA Cup trip to Yeovil, Mourinho said: "I believe Micki is going to be even better than for us.

“Why? Because one-and-a-half years in England, adapted. Because of the way they play. That's why I'm also happy for him.”

5.10pm: Chelsea are becoming increasingly frustrated by Antonio Conte’s criticism of the club’s transfer activity.

Conte has suggested on numerous occasions that he has little to do with Chelsea’s transfer business.

However, Sky Sports claim the Blues are hammering away to bring in the Italian’s targets before the January transfer window shuts.

3.15pm: Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino is remaining calm in the transfer market despite his side’s lack of activity.

Pochettino said: “You need to follow your way. You cannot look next to you, you must believe in the way that you want to create your philosophy and your project.

“Then what is going on next to us – yes, we are aware about that, but you cannot imitate and cannot do what another club are doing now.

“You need to be strong; you need to have personality, character and not be scared about what happens now. Sometimes you can drop a little bit but if you are strong enough, in the future you can win.”

“It is a loan. I’ll be able to tell you more once it’s done.”

Mario is understood to have grown frustrated at a lack of playing time under new Inter boss Luciano Spalletti.

2:00pm: Jose Mourinho has ruled out a move for Cristiano Ronaldo.

Manchester United continue to be linked with the Real Madrid star, who has reportedly ask to leave the club in recent weeks.

But speaking in his press conference today, Mourinho distanced himself from the rumours.

“I think with the moment Real Madrid is having now, I think I should be the last one to add some fuel to the fire,” he said.

“Madrid is on fire, the results are not good and it's a club where I worked three years, I cared about the club, I am the last one to add fire.

“So to put some water on the fire, Cristiano is the kind of player every manager and club wants but one that Zidane and Real Madrid have, that's my feeling.

1:30pm: Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is to be included in Borussia Dortmund's squad this weekend.

The forward has been suspended by the Bundesliga outfit in recent weeks.

Talks between the parties have only been held over the phone and not in person due to a visa problem.

“I talked with #Dzeko agent over the phone,” Mrkonja wrote on Twitter.

“Contacts with #CFC proceed over the phone.

“Only when he gets his visa he'll be able to travel to #London.”

Jose Mourinho is a long-term admirer of Bale but faces strong competition.

It is thought that the Bundesliga giants see him as a replacement for ageing winger Arjen Robben.

Diario Gol also report that Perez is considering using Bale as bait in an effort to tempt Harry Kane to Madrid.

4.30am: Southampton have agreed a club record £19.1m deal for Monaco striker Guido Carrillo.

Carrillo, 26, played under Saints boss Mauricio Pellegrino at Estudiantes.

The Argentine has scored just five goals for Monaco this term and has never scored more than 14 in a season.

Saints upped their bid after an initial offer of £17.5m was rejected.

The fee eclipses the £18m the south coast side paid Juventus for midfielder Mario Lemina in the summer.

“It’s up to Arsene Wenger and Arsenal football club to try and tame that beast, it’s as simple as that.

9.25pm: Alejandro Moreno thinks Edin Dzeko will be a good signing for Chelsea.

He said on ESPN FC: “It’s a hit and it’s a hit for many different reasons not because Batshuayi may be leaving or not.

“I think independently of that the fact you have had some struggles from Alvaro Morata it makes sense for Chelsea to go after Edin Dzeko.

“He’s a player who has scored in the past in the Premier League, has played in the league, knows the Premier League very well and has done well at Roma.

“Coming back to Chelsea I think makes a whole lot of sense for Chelsea.

“I don’t know that they really think Morata will be the long-term solution and for right now they need someone who can score.

“Morata’s not doing it, maybe Dzeko provides the competition that Morata needs, maybe he provides the goals, in whichever case I think Chelsea wins out. This is a hit for me.”

8.45pm: Borussia Dortmund have rejected an Arsenal offer in excess of £50m for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

As a result, Arsenal now have a clean run at Evans, and according to the Daily Mail, he is open to moving to London.

Atletico are keen to partner Aguero with former Chelsea forward Diego Costa next season knowing that Griezmann wants to leave.

Following the decision to extend Shaw’s contract another year, it has now been reported that the Red Devils have dropped their interest in Sandro.

The Manchester Evening News have revealed that thanks to the resurgence in form of Shaw and Young, the Europa League champions are not considering alternatives at the moment.

Chelsea tried to sign the left-back in the summer but were unable to get a deal over the line.

Juve were asking for a fee of between £60m and £70m, leading to the Premier League champions pulling out of a deal.

Chelsea's move for Roma striker Edin Dzeko in doubt

6pm: Chelsea and Roma have agreed a deal which will see Edin Dzeko make a switch to Stamford Bridge.

But the Gabon international refused to answer and sped off in his Lamborghini Aventador supercar.

The Wales international is expected to leave the Bernabeu in the summer after struggling with injuries throughout his time at the club.

And Don Balon claim the 28-year-old is only willing to leave Real for the Premier League this summer.

That’s why he has rejected the chance to join Bundesliga giants Bayern.

4.20pm: Manchester United are closer than ever to signing Mesut Ozil from Arsenal, according to the bookies.

BetStars Director of Trading Ian Marmion said: “Manchester United’s odds of completing a deal for Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil have fallen amid reports that the Gunners are unwilling to meet Ozil’s wage demands.

“The German midfielder is now at 7/1 to move to Old Trafford.

“Ozil is out of contract at the end of the season and United have already completed a deal for his now former teammate Alexis Sanchez, whose contract was also set to come to an end this summer.

“Real Madrid (20/1) and Paris Saint-Germain (25/1) will look to Ozil should a move to United fail to materialise, although their lengthy odds suggest that Ozil is likely to remain in the Premier League, with Old Trafford his most likely destination.”

3.50pm: Luis Suarez has told Lionel Messi he’s got offers on the table from the MLS.

The duo are close pals and Suarez has informed his team-mate that ambitious US-based teams are ready to try and coax him Stateside.

1.40pm: Liverpool have an agreement in place to sign Monaco sensation Thomas Lemar.

The France international has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League in recent months.

Liverpool and Arsenal were in for the winger in the summer, with Manchester United also being credited with interest in the 22-year-old.

Both the Gunners and the Reds tabled bids for Lemar but the forward snubbed interest from the Prem big boys and opted to stay in Ligue 1.

And according to Yahoo Sport journalist Duncan Castles, Liverpool have an agreement in place with Lemar to move to Anfield.

However, the Reds are currently refusing to meet Monaco’s asking price of at least £88m (€100m).
