DANBURY — The Danbury Library wants local students to design the branch's next generation of library cards.

The new design contest is open to all K-12 students and the deadline for submissions is 5 p.m. Feb. 16.

Designs will be judged by a panel of library staff, Mayor Mark Bougton and the FRIENDS of the Danbury Library group. A selection of entries will be displayed in the library beginning Feb. 26 and an awards celebration to announce the winning designs will be held at 5:30 p.m. on March 7.

Two winning designs will be selected, one from the K-5 students' submissions and one from 6-12 students' submissions. Each winner will receive a $100 Amazon gift card.

Designs can be made with traditional materials or digitally, but the artwork must fit inside a horizontal 8-inch by 5-inch rectangle and be free of copyright restrictions.

For full design guidelines, go to www.danburylibrary.org. Entries may be submitted at the Junior Floor Desk or by email to tcarvalho@danburylibrary.org.
