ABU DHABI: The ‘Majlis Zayed’ Exhibition is now open to the public until Jan.28 from 3pm to 9pm on the 90th floor of the World Trade Centre, Abu Dhabi. The entrance is free.
‘Majlis Zayed’ Exhibition was launched on Wednesday afternoon where distinguished dignitaries attended a preview of the fascinating exhibits that showcase many of Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan‘s personal possessions that he used for his majlis, the traditional private meeting place.
The exhibition celebrating 2018 as ‘Year of Zayed’ pays tribute to the UAE’s visionary leader Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the Emîr of Abu Dhabi and first President of UAE, and his legacy.
The World Trade Centre Abu Dhabi, in collaboration with Abu Dhabi Museum and National Archives, inaugurated the ‘Majlis Zayed’ exhibition at the highest point in Abu Dhabi, Burj Mohammed Bin Rashid.
The opening ceremony was attended by many distinguished dignitaries from the Emirate.
The Majlis Zayed exhibition is the first official event in the country celebrating the 2018 Year of Zayed.
This is also the first time these exhibits are on show in the UAE.
Especially curated from a privately-owned collection, the exhibits give visitors a rare insight into the public life of the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who was the principal driving force behind the formation of the UAE.
Yasser Al Marzouqi, General Manager, The World Trade Centre, Abu Dhabi said: “It is an honour to host such an inspirational exhibition, which provides the chance to learn from Sheikh Zayed’s invaluable legacy.”
“With this unique collection of artefacts, we hope to bring our community together to showcase the rich, cultural heritage of our great nation and the phenomenal work of its founder.”
