THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The medical college police have arrested five members of a gang, including notorious goond Dini Babu. The other accused have been identified as Shiju, Dilip, Suresh Kumar, and Pradeep. Dini and the others are accused in many cases, including those related to murder, in various police stations. They were arrested following a tip-off that they were travelling in a white car. Though the police tried to stop them at Kumarapuram, they sped away. After a close chase, they were arrested and weapons were recovered from their car.

Dini’s brother Sunil had been hacked by another gang at Kannammoola two years ago. Dini, who was in jail, was plotting to do away with someone from the other gang. The police had intensified vigil in this connection. He recently came out of jail on bail and went into hiding with the aim of undertaking his plan.

The police, led by Medical College inspector C Binukumar, however, managed to zero down on him and his accomplices.
